The Penny Akam Unsung Hero Award

This very special award was introduced in 2010 to commemorate the life of Penny Akam who organised the Globe Travel Awards for so many years and who lost her battle with cancer in 2008.   Penny was passionate about our Industry and worked tirelessly with great dedication to make the Globe Travel Awards the event it is today.   The Penny Akam Unsung Hero Award, recognising unsung heroes in the travel industry, is presented to an individual who characterises the special qualities that Penny embodied.

If you know of a travel agent or supplier who you feel fits the bill of unsung hero - someone for whom nothing is ever too much trouble and for whom going the extra mile is an everyday occurrence then please submit an entry giving details in no more than 750 words to angela.hamilton-jones@travelweekly.co.uk no later than 7th December 2016.

Please ensure your entry has the name and contact details of the person you are nominating as well as details of why you feel they are deserving of this very special and personal award.

The recipient of this award will be announced at the ceremony.
